Acts 6:8-7:53 | November 21, 2021 | Pastor Justin Bebb “Rejecting God, His Leader, His Promise” 1. Stephen is charged with speaking blasphemous words against the law and temple. (6:8-15) 2. The people of Israel had consistently rejected God, His Leader, His promise. a. God covenanted with Abraham, his children would be His people. (7:1-8) b. The patriarch’s jealousy rejected God’s leader Joseph, but God preserved them anyway. (7:9-17) c. They rejected Moses, whom God sent to deliver them from Egypt, but God delivered them anyway. (7:18-35) d. They rejected God’s Law and Leader Moses in the wilderness. (7:36-43) e. They misunderstood the purpose of God’s presence with them. (7:44-50) 3. Rejection continued: By rejecting Jesus they reject God, His Leader, His Gospel. (7:51-53)
