Acts 7:54-8:8 | November 28, 2021 | Pastor Justin Bebb “Persecution and Gospel Advancement” 1. The crowd and religious leaders of Jerusalem were enraged against the gospel. (7:54) 2. God verifies the message by showing Stephen God and Jesus together in glory. (7:55-56) 3. The Jerusalem crowd rejected the gospel and executed Stephen with Saul’s approval. (7:57-58) 4. Even in his death Stephen prayed his enemies would find forgiveness in the gospel. (7:59-60) 5. Saul leads an intense persecution that scatters the church into Judea and Samaria. (8:1-3) 6. The religious leaders meant to stop the gospel, but God used their persecution to spread it. (8:4-8)
