Transition time: from apostles to elders. (20:22-27) 3. Elders are called to: a. Watch over their own lives. (20:28a) b. Shepherd God’s people. (20:28b) c. Teach God’s Word and protect from false teachers (20:29-31) d. Be built up by God’s gracious words and serve self-sacrificially. (20:32-35) 4. Biblical eldership is done out of a deep love for God’s people. (20:36-38)
