Family Worship

Worship is something we do all the time. Sometimes alone, other times as a family, and weekly as a local church family. We believe that it is important for the Christ follower to set aside intentional time to worship within their family unit. As we are unable to gather as a church family at this time, we strongly urge you to set aside time to worship as a family on Sunday morning. While this will not replace God’s call for us to gather with His people as a church, we can draw close to God as family units during this time.

Family worship may sound intimidating, but it is not. To worship as a family means to select a Bible passage, read it together, talk about it and try to apply it to our lives. It involves singing worship songs together as a family, whether or not you are musically inclined. Please feel free to use our church’s Worship Through Music playlist for this. Then close in prayer thanking God for who He is and what He has taught you in your time.

Below you will find a sample family worship time that you can use to worship together this week.

Sing: Select at least one or two songs to sing together as a family.

Gather Bibles and Watch the Sunday Morning Message Video.

Pray

  • Thank God that Jesus is the one who shows genuine love for us.
  • Confess that we are sinners in need of Jesus all the time.
  • Ask God to help us during this time that may be uncertain to us, but is not to Him.
  • Ask God to help us love others well, and to rejoice with those who rejoice and to weep with those who weep.

Respond: Have your kids create something that they heard from the message. Use craft supplies or legos or action figures…let them loose with their imagination!

Community: Snap a photo, and share it on our Facebook post about the Sunday Message. Reach out to another family in the church, and see how you can pray for them and encourage or help them this week.
